News Update – 12/09/2025

Dear Parent / Guardian / Colleague / Board Member,

Monies Due

Thanks to all who have already paid the monies due at start of term. The link for this will remain open on Aladdin Connect for another two weeks.

Swimming

Block A comprising of Rg 4&6 commenced today for the next 6 weeks. Thanks to all who have paid up. Block B will commence in late spring when we will try out a Tuesday morning slot instead of a hectic Friday evening one.

2pm Finish

From Monday next all infants will finish at 2 pm. Thank you for your cooperation these last two weeks. The After-School Club will revert to a 2 pm start time to coincide with this. We ask all parents of pupils not using the bus to use this service, if they cannot collect their children at home time.

Save the Date.

The new Parents Association Officer Board and Committee has decided to have a Tractor Run in the locality on New Year’s Day next as a school fundraiser. A schedule for Term 1 is currently being prepared and will be circulated in the very near future.

Outdoor Classroom

Thanks to Maurice and all those who have helped out putting our outdoor classroom together these last few weeks. The groundworks have been completed and the astro turf laid. It is coming along nicely and will be a great asset, once finished.

2026 Enrolment

Our enrolment process for the next academic year will commence on 1st October. Basic application forms will be sent to those who express an interest in joining our school. This form will also be readily available on our website at that time. To this end Alexandra Whelan (parent) is putting together a draft short two-minute video with music highlighting some activities at our school, both internally and externally to be used in for promotional purposes. Again, we will update you in due course.

Secondary School Visits

Staff from neighbouring secondary schools have started visiting our Rg 6 pupils this week and will continue to do so for the month of September. Please keep yourself informed of the relevant details of those schools which you are considering for your child. Details like Open Nights and Application Deadlines can easily be confused in the plethora of information coming through.

Running trials

We hope to organise running trials next week to select pupils to represent us at the upcoming Clonmel Athletic Club Primary Schools Cross Country Race at the TUS Sports Hub, Clonmel on Wednesday 15th October. These trials will be open to pupils from Rg 3 to Rg 6. We are asking interested children to bring their running gear from Monday. Thanks to Eamon and the Costigan Family for use of the adjacent field to carry out these trials.

Shredded paper

From time to time the school has shredded paper to give to anyone who wants it. If you would like to be considered for some, please contact us on 052-6136349 or alternatively your child can inform Rose or myself.

Is mise,

Michael J. O’Ryan – Principal
