Confirmation
Congratulations to our boys and girls from Rang 6 who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Phonsie at ceremonies in both the Nire and Fourmilewater churches on Tuesday. Thanks to all those who helped prepare the pupils: Mrs Byrne (class teacher), Miss Duggan who accompanied on guitar, Miss Denmead along with members of the choir, and violinist Áine Horgan. Thanks also to Bishop Cullinan for officiating, Fr Toomey (our Parish Administrator), Brendan and Nora (our sacristans), and our altar servers Ellen, Oliver and Alice. Thanks also to Alexandra Whelan for photography service. Our pupils did very well indeed and hopefully enjoyed their special day in the company of their families.

 

Seachtain na Gaeilge
To wrap up Seachtain na Gaeilge, all classes participated in our annual Céilí in the Halla earlier today. We had lots of individual and class performances celebrating our native culture through music, song and dance, with everyone proudly wearing our green, white and orange colours.

 

Hoodies
Many thanks to the Parents’ Association and to parents themselves for organising, subsidising and contributing towards a set of hoodies for the Class of 2026. They are extremely nice. They were distributed this week and will form part of the school uniform for the remainder of the school year, up to and including Graduation Night.

 

Mainstream Enrolment
Families who have applied to enrol a child in our mainstream school should have received an enrolment pack this week (Form 2). Congratulations on securing a place for your child. Please complete the form and return it to the school by 1st April, along with the required documentation.

 

ASD Class Enrolment
Applications have also opened for admission to our ASD class for September. Those interested in applying are asked to complete Form 1. The application process closes on 8th April. More information can be found under the enrolment tab on our website: https://www.ballymacns.com/enrolment/

 

Chess
Our Rang 6 pupils competed in a chess tournament today at Ballymacarbry Community Centre. Please follow our social media page to keep up with some activities taking place at our school.

Deireadh Seachtaine
Best wishes to the Ireland rugby team as we chase Triple Crown glory and perhaps even the championship on Saturday.

Congratulations to all mothers as we celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Enjoy the festivities over the extended weekend as we celebrate all that is good about Ireland and our national patron, St Patrick.
