News Update – 30/01/2026

Dear Parent / Colleague / Board Member,

Brideview Players

The stage is set for later this evening when the Brideview Players entertain us at the Community Centre. We are looking forward to a night of amateur dramatics, performed to professional standards, similar to last year. Curtains back at 8pm, so please arrive early. There will be a raffle on the night and refreshments served during the interval. Thanks to all who have helped sell tickets, volunteered their help or indeed sponsored raffle prizes for the occasion. Break a leg, as they say in show-biz!

Safety Online

As mobile phones and messaging apps are increasingly becoming a central part of children’s lives, we want to remind families of the importance of online safety. Children may sometimes share personal information, encounter inappropriate content, or feel pressured in messaging groups.

You can help by:

  • Monitoring your child’s online activity and discussing safe use of phones and apps.
  • Setting clear boundaries around screen time and group chats.
  • Encouraging your child to speak up if they see anything upsetting or unsafe online.

We are reviewing our protocol at present around internet safety and are planning talks for later this year. We will continue to provide education and guidance to students on safe and responsible online behaviour, and we encourage families to work with us to keep children safe in the digital world. Please feel free to activate the following links in patrolling child internet safety.

Please beware that children are not permitted to bring mobile phones to school at any time. (On a related note, ‘Stay Safe’ is also being taught in the school at this moment in time.)

Anois Teacht an Earraigh!

With St Brigid’s Day upon us, we begin to sense the promise of spring — longer days, brighter mornings and the first signs of new life in nature. Like the daffodils pushing through the cold ground, our children remind us daily of growth, curiosity and hope. It is a lovely moment in the year to pause and look forward with optimism to the season ahead. Thanks to Anna who called to our school today to continue to traditional art of St Brigid’s Cross making with the senior classes. Don’t forget your Brat Bhríde (Brigid’s Band) tomorrow night.

Reminder

The school will be closed on Monday 2nd February for St Brigid’s Bank Holiday. The school will also close on Tuesday 10th February for in curriculum in-service. The Breakfast Club and After School Service will run from 8am – 2pm on the day. All enquiries to 083 2828749

Michael J. O’Ryan – Principal.
