News Update – 10/02/2023
Dear Parent / Guardian / Colleague / Board Member,
Chickenpox – Since returning to school in January, we have been notified of a few cases of chickenpox within both infant classes and today in Rang 2. Emails are sent from the office to notify families of this. Please follow HSE advice as per attachments and err on the side of caution as regards attendance. Please make us aware of any notifiable disease at your earliest convenience to inform and protect others.
HSE Visits – The HSE called this week to administer MMR vaccinations to pupils from Junior Infants. Please return the Hearing and Vision forms, if you have received one by Monday next. Thank you.
Enrolment – Our enrolment process is up and running. Many families have already applied to enrol a child. We will be in touch with them in March. We would appreciate your help in attracting new families / pupils to our school. It is our intention to host an Open Afternoon in June. For further information, please contact the school or visit our website. http://www.ballymacns.com

School Books Sept 2023 – The latest information to hand on this, is that The Department will issue “detailed guidance to schools in advance of the Easter break on the implementation of the free primary schoolbooks measure. Implementation of this measure will build on the existing book rental schemes in place already in most schools,” such as ours.
Mid Term Break – As per our academic calendar, our school will break for Mid-Term on Wednesday next at the normal 2 or 3pm finish time. We will return to school on Monday 20th February. To mark St Valentine’s Day, on Tuesday next, we encourage pupils to wear a red top, if possible, along with uniform pants / skirt.
Is mise,
Michael J. O’ Ryan – Principal.
