News Update – 11/03/2022

Dear Parent / Guardian, Colleague & Board Member,

Weather Event –

Wednesday’s freakish snow event saw us contacting families in the early afternoon in the interest of getting all pupils home safely. Thanks to you all for your cooperation in this regard. Thankfully, school was able to recommence on Thursday morning.

Boston Scientific Donation–

We were delighted to welcome Stephen Dukelow and April O’Gorman from Boston Scientific on Thursday to present us with a cheque for €4,458. This money has been earmarked to develop a Health Walkway around the perimeter of the school into the future. Staff member Michelle McGrath and parent / Boston employee April O’Gorman spoke of how such funding was sourced and how the school will utilise it and see this project to fruition. We are very appreciative of this donation in the sure and certain knowledge that it will benefit all pupils for many years to come.

First Penance –

The Penance service has had to be rescheduled to Monday 14th March at 7pm in Fourmilewater Church owing to the weather on Wednesday last.

Historical Field Trip –

Ms Dunlea’s class made the short tip to Cahir Castle on Wednesday last. Even though the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t deter from the enthusiasm or the knowledge gleaned from this historical Butler dwelling.

Our boys and girls advanced to the Semi-Final stage of the West Waterford Cumann na mBunscol Competition on Monday last in Cappoquin. Both will play their semi finals at the same venue on Tuesday next 15th March. Beir bua.
