Jubilee Table Quiz. – Thanks to all the families who participated last Friday and all staff members and PA who assisted in any way including Mairead Lynch at the Centre. Well done to the O’Keeffe’s of Smallquarter, the Norris Family of Ballymacarbry and the O’Flynn’s, of Croughclooney who came 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively. P.T.M. – These will take place on Wed 23rd & Thurs 24th Nov. next between 3:10 -5:10 pm with ‘Ahearne –Morrissey’ the first day and Mulcahy – Wyse the day after. Please refer to slip sent home to see which teachers to meet on the afternoon.

Sacraments – Fr Toomey has informed us that Confirmation for Rg 6 pupils will take place locally on Thursday 30th March. FMW at 2 pm and Touraneena at 4 pm. The new rota for FMW altar servers has been distributed. I attach it to this email for those concerned.

Science Week – Well done to all the pupils and staff who engaged in science experiments throughout the week. – the place was a hive of activity.

Girls’ Plate Final – Best wishes to our girls who play the rescheduled Plate Final against Cappoquin tomorrow morning at 10:20 am in Ballinameela pitch (Eircode X35 D280) Panel members are asked to be on the grounds at 9:45 am and to wear blue shorts.

W.S.P. – Athletics coaching and Balance Bike training are ongoing for pupils between junior infants and Rg 4.

Tidy Towns – The school was complimented on its report attached to the local Tidy Town Submission 2022. We congratulate them on their mark of 356 up 8 points on 2021. They are having a mass on tonight at 7pm in the Community Centre to recognise 40 years of participation in the national Tidy Towns competition. All are welcome.

Healthy Eating – On mentioning tidy towns / tidy schools, may I take this opportunity to remind families of our healthy eating programme at school. As per school rules, we discourage crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks. In line with our Green Flag Status, we discourage wrappers of all types, especially tin foil.

Jubilee Concert – Our teachers and pupils are continuing preparations for our upcoming concert at Christmas. This will be held over two nights at Ballymacarbry Comm. Centre on Mon 19th & Tues 20th Dec. Tickets will go on sale following PTM’s.

Shoebox Appeal – Over 70 Christmas Shoeboxes were forwarded this week. Thanks to all who compiled boxed for less fortunate Eastern European children.

Christmas Annuals – Rose has put in our order for the Christmas annuals. They will be distributed the week before Christmas.

Local Sport – Hard luck to the Nire Footballers in Munster Club but well done to the Ballymacarbry Ladies Minor Footballers on winning the County Final.
