News Update – 25/02/2022

Dear Parent / Guardian, Colleague & Board Member,

Covid 19 Update –

Thankfully we are aware of no current cases at our school. We will be easing Covid restrictions form 28th February. Many of these will only be noticeable in-house but from Monday as per Des guidelines, the recommendation to wear a mask will be lifted in an educational setting, along with the necessity to maintain class bubbles and individual PODs. The school day will also become more normal in relation to tuition time and break times. Children will be informed of other such developments from Monday.

Boston Sponsorship –

I am delighted to be able to share that the Boston Scientific Charity Committee has allocated €4,458 to Ballymacarbry National School’s proposal for a walking track around the school. This will benefit the health of our pupils long into the future, further developing our grounds and offering.  We thank parent April O’Gorman and her work colleagues for identifying this potential source of funding some years back and seeing it to fruition.  We thank Boston Scientific for its generous donation and wish them well into the future.  We are interested in establishing a parent / teacher collaborative group to realise this project and create a plan for future opportunities. If you are interested please feel free to contact the school or indeed April herself. – Ní neart go cur le chéile.

Revised Academic Calendar –

A new calendar for the remainder of the Academic Year will circulate next week. This is in light of changes made by the government in relation to a new Bank holiday. It will be distributed to parents via pupils and published on our website after MTB. Please discard previously distributed version.
