We congratulate staff member Michelle McGrath, Glasha and her husband Seán on the recent birth of son Paddy. Paddy is a younger brother to Mossie.
Fáilte Romhat ar Ais –
We welcome back Mrs Jackie Coffey to her position as Rang 2/3 Class Teacher. We wish her well for the remainder of the year along with her pupils in their learning and in their preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation in May. We thank Mrs Byrne who filled the breach in the interim and undertook recent Parent Teacher Meetings.
First Penance –
Our Rang 2 boys and girls received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Monday 14th March at Fourmilewater Church. Fr Desmond administered the sacrament on behalf of Fr. Toomey. Well done to one and all including the boys & girls themselves, their parents, Mrs Byrne, Miss O’Keeffe and Niamh Fenton for her musical accompaniment. FYI – Holy Communion ceremonies will take place in FMW on Sat 14th May and in the Nire on Sunday 22nd May. Both at 11am.
Commitment Ceremony / Ceremony of Light –
This combined Service for all pupils in Rang 6 has been scheduled for Wednesday 6th April in Fourmilewater at 7 pm. More details in next week’s issue. If your child is preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation but wasn’t baptised in any of the four local churches, please acquire a baptismal cert and ensure that we receive a copy at your earliest convenience. Please also ensure you have your child’s baptismal candle for the night.

Congratulations to our boys and girls football teams who have both qualified for the Western ‘A’ Finals recently. The finals will be held in the Dungarvan Club Grounds on Saturday 2nd April. Times will be confirmed soon. We expect in or around a 10:00am start. Both teams will face Lismore coincidentally.
P.A. A.G.M. –
After a two year hiatus, The AGM of the Parents’ Association was held on Monday last in the school. The officers elected for the year ahead are, Aoife Fenlon – Chair, Theresa O’Gorman – Secretary Therese O’Flynn – Treasurer. The PA does invaluable work for the school and its pupils and indeed has done so behind the scenes for these last two years. There are many worthwhile projects in the pipeline and the PA would like to encourage more parents to become involved.
