Covid 19 Update – Thankfully many of the restrictions have been lifted from society. The education sector will be reviewed again shortly. Currently we have 8 cases among the school population which equates to 4%.

The attendance rate for this week has been 86%.  If you are unsure as to restrictions, please refer to the latest HSE Isolation Guide from 27/1/2022 as attached here. Please ensure that you are reading the latest version as this is the fourth one this January.  Latest Isolation Quick Guide U-13’s

Catholic Schools Week – This week we celebrated CSW at our school. The theme was living life to the full. On Wednesday we marked Grandparents’ Day and the Sacrament Classes attended Fr Toomey’s public mass in FMW. Rg 6 assisted with readings, prayers and provided the choir under Mr Brunnock’s instruction. We took a few moments to visit the adjoining graveyard after mass in memory of the faithful departed.

Pre & Post School Childcare – It is the intention of the Board of Management to engage Helena Wall O’Meara to put in place a “Breakfast  and After School Service” for school going children at our school from September 2022. We approached Helena following the Expression of Interest Advertisement recently published in local newspapers.

Helena is fully qualified and has accumulated many years of experience to the extent that she now operates three successful services at Clerihan, Fethard and Carrick on Suir schools.

The need for this service has been highlighted by local children being unable to attend our school due to childcare issues and parents writing to the Board. We hope that this service can prosper over time so that those preferring to enroll at our school can do so.

People are encouraged to contact Helena at their earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment. Applications are now open for Sept 2022. (Both Breakfast Club / After School Service and Mainstream School)
